American dream Pt.1

It was exactly a year ago when I embarked on a journey to the United States . Time passes so fast , it is almost time for me to embark on another journey to Europe. But before I begin my trip to Europe , I am going to share my experience here about my adventure in the United States last year.

"It all started with a dream , a dream about breaking free , a dream about making a change for myself" At that point I knew I have to make a decision in order for me to make a change.That was the sole reason that made me to sign up for the work and travel USA program from Speedwing .

It was May 11 , it was the time to travel to the land of freedom...  It was my first time traveling so far without a friend or family member beside me . So in order to make things slightly easier for me , I had made an agreement with another fellow work and travel participant (Andhie) to travel together .

Overnight in Rain Forrest Lounge

After a total of 21 hour flight time and countless hour of layover we are finally arrived at Cleveland Airport in the state of Ohio. It was the most tiring flight of my life so far but it is well worth it . Upon reaching the airport , we took a cab straight to our final destination which is the world renown roller coaster capital of the world , Cedar Point , Sandusky.

After passing thru the security gate , both me and Andhie went ahead and introduce ourselves to the two person near the gate , one was sitting there enjoying the sky and while the other was practicing his dance move on his own. Personally it is kind of hard for me to introduce myself cause I was not used meeting people other than people in my own country , so it was a really a challenge for me to approach them and say hi .Well , I am glad I did it , I have made Alvin and Greg as my first batch of friends in the United States.

We arrived at the Cedar Point employee housing late in the evening so we have no choice but to check in with the housing supervisor in the commons store and process in the next day in human resource department.

 The next day , we got the whole day to ourselves to explore the places and we are needed to process-in with the HR department . The entire process consist of filling up some forms , getting our ID cards and of course getting our new working uniforms. After all those tedious process finally we can explore !  So was time to check out the theme park that I am going to work for 4 months.

The park itself was amazing ! It was huge and spacious. You can see those huge and tall roller coaster from a far. As an employee , I am allowed to enter the park and try all the ride for free !

To be frank , on the first day in the park I really have no ballz to try out any of the roller coaster. Me and Andhie just walk around and enjoying the sight of mega roller coaster and scary rides around the park. After all those walking it is time for lunch and basically we have selected Pink to be our first restaurant to try in Cedar Point. Pink's sells plenty of delicious huge hot dog and I instantly fall into love with those hot dog's after trying them , it is so delicious . Really by far the best hot dog I have tasted and it is from Pinks!!
